Responsible for implementing a climate extension program at the University of Florida with the main goal of developing strategies and decision support systems to help producers mitigate production risks associated with climate variability and change. The program is being developed under the Southeast Climate Consortium. in partnership with state Extension Services in Florida, Georgia, and Alabama;

Responsible for the water management research program at IAREC (Irrigated Agriculture, Research and Education Center), located in Prosser, WA (potato, tree fruits)

Senior Research Scientist – Project Manager 1998 - 2002

Customized and applied process-based crop models in North America (Midwestern states) and South America (State of Paraná, Brazil and Provinces of Buenos Aires and Santa Fe, Argentina) for regional yield forecast.

Researched and collected data in North and South America for crop modeling purposes (soils, crop management, yield history, and historical weather data).

Developed/tested new technologies based on the concept precision agriculture, including methods for the delineation of site-specific management zones based on satellite imagery and application of variable rate nitrogen fertilization (United States Patent no. 6,889,620)

Adapted the FHANTM (Field Hydrologic And Nutrient Transport Model) water quality model for the purpose of modeling impacts of beef cow/calf operations in south Florida.

Developed GIS-based applications linking water quality models and ARC/INFO GIS software.
